Many of Old Photo's customers are in charge of liquidating an estate or having an estate sale. They may open a closet and find multiple boxes of 35mm slide carousels. Since most people don't have a 35mm slide projector, the slides, with precious family heirloom memories and family history on them, are destined for the trash barrel. We have heard from numerous people who wished that they had heard of our inexpensive service for transferring the 35mm slide collection left to them from their fathers and mothers or grandparents to a DVD playable slide show that can be copied and shared with all the family members. They tell us that, instead of continuing to store the cumbersome and hard to view slides and carousels, they just tossed them all out. They regretted doing so at the time but just didn't see any alternative and they didn't want to continue to store the slides. Now, after seeing how inexpensive it would have been to take care of this preservation, once and for all, they continue to think of what could have been.

Anyone downsizing, relocating, moving out of state, or liquidating a loved ones household has some tough decisions to make when they have to decide about what to do with all those old 35mm slides. We can bet that many of the slides are beginning to deteriorate already and, if they have not been kept in a temperature and humidity controlled environment, they may have mold and mildew on them.
35mm Slides in Kodak Carousels
If the slides are still in Kodak Compatible Carousels, there is no need to remove the slides from the carousels for scanning. We have a device that will take care of that for you at no extra cost to you, as the estate liquidator or the estate liquidation firm. If your slides are in any other container, we will need you to properly prepare them for scanning. We do offer to do this for you for a minimal charge of five cents each.

Free Disposal After Digitizing and Approval
As part of our service, since many people do not want their 35mm slides or carousels back after we are done scanning them to digital format and making a DVD playable slide show for them, and making the scans available on the disk for copying to computer or printing, we offer to dispose of their slides and carousels free of charge. Customers always have the option of having their slides and/or carousels returned to them. We never dispose of these items without specific confirmed instructions to do so.
