Adobe Reader Updates Without Download Manager

Problem:

Adobe tries to make you install their Download manager to download reader updates. Lots of people don't like to have this program running, forever after, in their system tray, taking up valuable system resourses.

You can download it from here http://get.adobe.com/reader/
enterprise/

Or navigate the Adobe FTP site to get any released Reader version ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/
