Image Editing Practices & Expectations

We take the steps needed to make your images look as good as possible, given the condition of the originals. For example, if an image’s dyes have severely faded, we may convert it to black-and-white or sepia to improve appearance. Because shadows can block up during scanning, our Photoshop® experts may open shadows to reveal detail, which can sometimes trade a bit of contrast or color depth for clarity. We handle your images as if they were our own.

Liability & Copyright Declarations

By submitting our order form, the customer agrees that the liability of Affordable Scanning, its agents and employees, for any losses or damages of any kind to the customer’s slides, pictures, or other material is limited to the cost of replacing such items if they are replaceable. Affordable Scanning, its agents and employees, shall not be liable for any loss or damage of any kind, whether direct, incidental, consequential, or otherwise.

The customer declares that all materials submitted for transfer or reproduction do not violate any copyright laws and either were created by the customer or submitted with permission of the copyright owner. The customer agrees to indemnify and hold Old Photo harmless with respect to any claim of copyright violation.

Since it is impossible to satisfy everyone 100% of the time, the customer agrees to accept Affordable Scanning’s scanning and Photoshop experts’ decisions on all image work. Our pricing is low, and we work to deliver more value than others in our price range.
