I only checked one dvd last night to see that it functioned correctly – I’ll try the others this evening but I don’t see any problem.

Last, do you transfer 8MM camcorder tapes onto dvd? I have a dvd burner but it only works on my newer digital 8 tapes. I have close to 20 tapes from 2003 and prior that I want to preserve. Just wondering if you do that as well.

I have a couple questions. Is the VCD2 format compatible with slide show playback on a MAC? If not, can the disks, nonetheless, be put into a MAC drive to retrive the .jpg's? If not, no sweat, I'm a happy camper, a couple of family members have MAC's, but they will be able to play the slide show on their DVD players.

Just got back from a few days in Whitewater taking in the Fall colors. The CD’s arrived while I was away. Just got finished reviewing them and everything is perfect. Please let me know when you are shipping the slides back so I can watch for them.

I would like your advice on a project I am thinking of undertaking. I have 2 grown children and was thinking of creating a “show” for them consisting of every slide I have on each of them from birth till say their 21st birthday. A kinda “This is your life”. I’m sure this would involve hundreds of slides of each of them. My thought is to create a folder for each of them on the PC and go thru all the slides and copy the appropriate ones into these folders. Then where do I go from there ? Your input will be appreciated.

A couple of months ago you completed scanning about 950 slides for me, which were very well done. I am now scanning a number of pictures which I am filing in folders by the year they were taken. For my slides, you made a title page (photo) for me for each group of slides that you scanned for me. Two years ago you created a wonderful CD from old slides that I gave my daughter as a gift for her 30th birthday. We were all thrilled! Now her younger brother has hit the 30 year milestone and I'd like to create a similar gift for him. Because his birthday was in January, I do not have a specific target date in mind. I'm hoping however that the end result will be complete later this spring ~ perhaps late April? early May? Is that within reason?

I have organized the slides and also have a group of paper photos. I have printed out your order form and completed it. I plan to ship to you tomorrow or Friday. Thought I should alert you first as to what I'm doing!

I have 338 slides and 27 paper photos = total 365
The slides have been properly organized per your instructions. Each "show" is banded together with elastic band. Each show is labeled to identify # of show and the "top" and "bottom" of the stack. I have painstakingly organized the slides in chronological order, in landscape position, and with the side facing the screen "up."
I have created one text page for the beginning of the presentation.
There are a total of 17 short stacks of slides and a group of 27 photos; therefore, 18 shows total.

Per your order form calculations, the total cost is $174.25. I am enclosing a $50 deposit check inside the box with the slides.

If there is anything else I should do, kindly let me know.

I received my slide show disks yesterday and couldn't wait to try them out. They are magnificent. You have brought over 1000 images from 40 years ago into the present. The quality is limited only by the skills of the photographer and the camera used. We have not viewed these images since our old slide projector died back in the late 60's. Thanks for finishing the job so quickly. Looking through it, everything for the most part looks fine (a shame some of the slides were so dirty, but then again, as you say, cleaning them can cause more damage) - I'm very happy with the job.

Recently Old Photo converted two sets of slides to disc for me. The first set was 28 years old. The second set has just been returned to me. They were photos that I made exactly fifty years ago this week at the Nevada Test Site related to a nuclear test. I intend to use them to make a PowerPoint presentation before my Rotary Club just fifty years after the first time! Old Photo did everything possible to satisfy my requirements. I received the Demo Disk. After a little experimenting, I was able to get the Demo Disk to play in my DVD player. I also tried it on my PC and it worked fine there. I pulled off the JPEG files and viewed them. This gives the customer the best of both worlds. It allows viewing on the DVD player and access to the raw files for other uses. Some of the slides had varying degrees of clarity but upon examining the slides, they were very rippled probably due to age.

I will be reviewing all my slides and deciding which slides to digitize. I'll be packaging them for shipment as soon as I can get them together.

I am very satisfied with the results.

Received our disks, have looked them over and found them to be quite satisfactory. We think you did a nice job, especially considering that some of our slides were not the greatest. We're very pleased to now be able to see them much more often with this technology.

In regard to the return of our slides, we've decided that we would appreciate it if you would just trash them, as we don't think we'll ever use them again. However, we DO want our PAPER PHOTOS back, which could probably be sent via U.S. Postal Service.

I just finished a close run through of all 552 slides and can only say again that the quality is well above what I had expected. I had tried in the past to have portions of the slides put on tape and can only say it was not worth the effort. Putting them digital brought out clarity I did not know could be done.

Got the 4 CDs yesterday.
Looked at one and was VERY VERY happy and excited with the result.
The quality is far beyond my expectations.
We watched it on our 48" HDTV and we were just amazed at the sharpness, the brilliant colors, and the contrast of all the pictures. I really think the pictures looked better on the TV than
they do when using a 35mm projector on to a screen.

I feel it's a combination of your superb scanning process, your restoration, and the video processing in both the HDTV and the DVD/CD player.

Recently, I had the privilege of doing business with Old-Photo. I needed pictures to be scanned onto a disk so that I could provide a slide presentation for my father's retirement party. Incredible. I got the disk you made for me. I was all choked up by the end - I don't think I'd seen most of those pictures before. I didn't realize there were so many - that is quite a show!!! BEAUTIFUL work. I can understand how challenging some of them must have been, with darkness and color, etc. You sure made everything look great- one wouldn't know that some started out not looking so good because you have everything looking so nice!

We are a big Irish family. We are also known to be very lucky. But even we didn't think we'd be lucky enough to get a rush job done for a big fancy last minute birthday party so we could have a DVD.

I think there are about 157 if I counted right. They are in a few different types of plastic or paper mounts (I used to work for a slideshow production company) so I have written “top” on the top right-reading side of all the slides. Just looking for slide scanning – don’t really need a slide show.

By the way, I put together a slideshow for my sister’s 40th birthday (15 years ago!) and she sent the slides in to have you scan them – they turned out great! She had an extra disk made for me. This is really the way to go!
